Antonio, 16, a sprinter for the Los Angeles Jets track club, ran the 100-meter dash in 10.6 and the 200 in 21.2 to set two national intermediate-division records at The Athletic Congress' boys' age-group track and field championships.
Diana, 13, one of two girl players in the Fairfield Little League, averaged 13 strikeouts a game and threw two no-hitters and three one-hitters in leading her VFW-sponsored team to a 14-2 record. She also batted .570 on the season.
NORTH POLE, ALASKA
Ben, a senior tailback at North Pole High, ran for 1,080 yards on 129 carries and had 11 touchdowns in leading his team to a 4-1 record. He has had two 300-yard games, and seven of his TDs have come on runs of more than 51 yards.
GROSSE POINTE, MICH.
Polizzi, an Albion College senior, had all five goals in a 5-3 field hockey win over Olivet. She has paced the Bretons to three Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association titles and set single-season league records for goals (17) and points (34).
Campregher, 35, a sometime bar owner, and Zollman, 27, a warehouseman, won the light heavyweight and lefthanded open titles, respectively, at the World Amateur Armwrestling Championships in La Mirada, Calif. In their divisions both have been national amateur champions for the past three years and have been undefeated in two years of competition. Campregher also won Referee of the Year honors, and Zollman added the middleweight righthanded title to his southpaw championship.
