COLOR PHOTO: PHOTOGRAPH BY SAM RICHE High Stakes Race Imadeed, with John Velazquez (yellow silks) in the irons, led briefly in the fourth race at Belmont last Saturday (page 44) before she fell, and Pleasant County (8), ridden by Eibar Coa, tumbled over her. The toll: Pleasant County suffered a fatal skull injury and Imadeed tore a ligament in her right leg. Remarkably, neither jockey was seriously injured.
