Leading Off
River of Humanity
As more than 40,000 runners sped past the starting line of the Standard Charter Bank's Greatest Race in Hong Kong on Sunday, a slow shutter speed captured the initial flow. The entrants competed in marathon, half-marathon and 10K divisions.
Jay Watching
As Texas coach Rick Barnes (standing) and everybody else looked on in wonder, Kansas guard Brandon Rush rose above the crowd for a shot last Saturday in Lawrence, Kans. The Jayhawks won the battle of Big 12 powers 90--86 with Rush scoring 15 points.
Full Circle
Marcus LeVesseur of Augsburg ended his Division III career the way he started it: unbeaten. Last Saturday he whipped Jason Knipp of Wartburg (orange singlet) 10--2 in the 165-pound championship semifinals in Dubuque, Iowa; the following day LeVesseur (inset) celebrated a 3--0 victory over College of New Jersey's Michael Guenther that ran his record to 155--0. The Division I championships start on March 15 in Auburn Hills, Mich. (page 56).
