Spain defender Carles Puyol went over the back of Netherlands defender John Heitinga, trying to score on a header during the first half of the World Cup final in Johannesburg on Sunday. The ball went awry, but Spain's Andrés Iniesta scored near the end of overtime to win the game 1--0 and give his country its first World Cup title (page 46).
Revelers in Pamplona, Spain, crouched as a bull leaped over them in the ring last Friday, the fourth day of the annual festival of San Fermín. Three people reportedly needed hospital treatment following that day's running of the bulls, which lasted about 6½ minutes but probably seemed to last a lot longer.
