PETER KING'S THINGS I THINK
1. I think prolific young running backs Matt Forte of the Bears and Ray Rice of the Ravens want the kind of guaranteed money the Titans' Chris Johnson got before the season—$30 million. But by putting the franchise tag on each for the next two seasons, Chicago and Baltimore would have to pay only about $17 million to each player.
2. I think Patriots coach Bill Belichick erred on draft day when he passed on young pass rushers like Jabaal Sheard and Brooks Reed to pick injury-prone cornerback Ras-I Dowling of Virginia. New England has not developed a good young pass rusher the way others have.
3. I think that because officials have such a difficult job getting calls right on the split-second borderline helmet and defenseless player hits, the NFL should allow replay challenges of questionable hits.
