THINGS THAT GO BUMP IN THE NIGHT For starters, the national-title paths of the nation's second- (Oklahoma State), fourth- (Oregon) and fifth-ranked (Oklahoma) teams, all of which went off the cliff last weekend. The Sooners' loss came courtesy of this game-winning 34-yard TD reception by Terrance Williams with eight seconds remaining in Baylor's 45--38 upset.

BROLLY GOOD SHOW Tiger Woods's poor start didn't rain on the U.S. parade at last week's Presidents Cup in Melbourne. After losing his first two matches—including a 7-and-6 rout, with Steve Stricker, on Day 1 to match the worst loss in the tournament's history—Woods took two of his final three and clinched the U.S. victory by defeating Aaron Baddeley in match play on Sunday.
