STORM SERGE The Thunder's Serge Ibaka found his seemingly clear path to the basket suddenly fouled by the arrival of the Spurs' Tim Duncan during Sunday's Western Conference finals opener in San Antonio. Duncan had 16 points, 11 rebounds and a block in the Spurs' 101--98 victory.

BUTTS WHIPPING Maryland's Brian Cooper sent Loyola's Davis Butts and his mouth guard flying during Monday's NCAA men's lacrosse championship game in Foxborough, Mass. Butts, however, got in the bigger lick by scoring on the play, and the top-seeded Greyhounds went on to a 9--3 victory and the program's first national title.
