Squish Splash Trail Blazers forward Ed Davis enveloped Warriors guard Klay Thompson on Sunday during Game 1 of their second-round series at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. Davis's exertions did little to stop Thompson, who scored a playoff-career-high 37 points to lead Golden State to a 118--106 victory despite the absence of his Splash Brother, Steph Curry, who missed his second game since injuring his right knee on April 24 in the first round.

The Crack of The Bat Mets rightfielder Curtis Granderson found the sour spot on the barrel last Saturday against the Giants at Citi Field. Granderson, who grounded out on this pitch, had one hit and scored once in New York's 6--5 home win, giving righthander Jacob deGrom his third victory of the season against no defeats.
