Plenty of snow at most of the Western resorts, and many Eastern areas are reporting best snow and largest crowds in years

EAST: MT. TREMBLANT, QUE.: New PO On 28-46 HB. All trails are in good shape.

STOWE, VT.: 6 PO on 24-34. Present conditions are about perfect.

FRANCONIA, N.H.: 1 PO on 4-40, with skiing good to excellent.

PICO PEAK, VT.: 3 PO on 5-15 HB. Karl Acker's ski school is breaking 17-year attendance marks.

N. CONWAY, N.H.: Watch out for IC. 1-2 GR on 7-10 HB.

BIG BROMLEY, VT.: 2 PO on 7-20 FG. 3-4 NS would provide excellent skiing.

BELLEAYRE, N.Y.: 1 PP on 2-7 frozen HB. Area turned away 100 cars as 3,500—all-time record—skied here last Sunday.

MIDWEST: RIB MT., Wis.: 3 PO on 5 HB. Trail skiing still limited, slopes O.K.

BOYNE MT., MICH.: Snow woes are over with 6-plus NS on 3-5 HB.

ROCKY MTS.: ASPEN, COL.: Plenty of NS here. All trails have PP on 13-32 base.

WINTER PARK, COL.: 2 NS on 20-27 HB. Up to 20 min. wait for lift on weekends.

SUN VALLEY, IDAHO: 3-5 new PO on 15-32 base.

ALTA, UTAH: Skiing continues perfect, thanks to more and more NS.

WHITEFISH, MONT.: 14-17 NS on 34-42 PP. Above the lift—52 virgin PO on 10 PP.

SANTA FE, N. MEX.: Eager skiers coming here from Texas, Kans., Okla. and even Fla. 3 PO on 12 old base; fair skiing.

NORTHWEST: MT. BAKER, WASH.: 8 packed-dry NS on 85 HP and superb skiing.

STEVENS PASS, WASH., 3 NS on 58. The bowl is open but needs more NS.

MT. HOOD, ORE.: 4 PO on 84 at Timberline Lodge, 4 PO on 54 at Govt. Camp. Contrary to published report, Timberline Lodge is in full operation and will continue to operate for remainder of season.

FAR WEST: MT. BALDY, CALIF.: 8 NS on 24-48 PP and skiing's fine. Hour-long traffic jams on lower road still a problem.

SNOW VALLEY, CALIF.: 9 NS on 30 HP. Area counted 3,000 faithful here last week.

SQUAW VALLEY, CALIF.: 12-36 PO on 36-96 base.

RENO, NEV.: 12-18 PO on 72 base, conditions never better.
