No spectator atthe NCAA swimming meet at New Haven will get as clear a view of the underwater,racers' version of the breast-stroke as the photographs of Al Wiggins on pages60 and 61 provide. For this unusual study, SI's Coles Phinizy donned trunks andair lung and submerged in the Ohio State pool. Then, as Wiggins glidedoverhead, Phinizy caught the OSU ace in four key phases.
