On one cold afternoon last week Chicago played to only 632 fans

White sox woes and American League apathy are reflected in fact that just a year ago Chicago led the league and the Yankees by three games, while White Sox aces Billy Pierce (right) and Dick Donovan had between them won eight and lost only three. This season Chicago is 10½ games behind the Yankees and Pierce and Donovan are 3-8.
