Emil Mosbacher Jr., New York skipper who won St. Petersburg-Havana yacht race in yawl Callooh, received the Governor's Cup when yawl was named Southern Ocean Racing champion.

Roland Lombard, 47, a Wayland, Mass. veterinarian, flew off to Alaska with 12 Siberian huskies, won North American Sled Dog races at Fairbanks over the 29 entries from the 49th state.

Howard Grant, 19-year-old jockey, won six of eight races in one day of riding at Bowie, tied the Maryland record and set a new one for the track. In 12 days he won 34 races on 80 mounts.
