In heat of play Referee Mendy Rudolph, unmoved by arm-waving Knick Coach Fuzzy Levane, tossed Guard Carl Braun from game for uncalled-for remarks, showed he held the upper hand in one of most declamatory scenes of the week.

TROTTING—Before Act Four of $75,000 American Trotting Classic at Inglewood, Calif., French import and principal star Jamin left for home, leaving Senator Frost and Charming Barbara, the other principals in the triangle, to settle the matter. The Senator rang clown the curtain with little fanfare but great haste, set track record for mile with time of 1:57[3/5] left Barbara 1½ lengths behind.

HORSE RACING—In last major 2-year-old romp of the year Wheatley Stable's Progressing figured it was time to show his stuff, took off in $117,320 Pimlico Futurity and dashed home two lengths ahead of Cain Hoy's All Hands.

BASEBALL—In revolutionary move major leagues kicked off three-week unrestricted trade policy. First trades were pedestrian, as Chicago Cubs bartered Pitcher Dave Hillman and journeyman Infielder Jim Marshall to Boston Red Sox for First Baseman Dick Gernert, and Cincinnati Reds exchanged Relief Pitcher Tom Acker to Kansas City Athletics for Catcher Frank House.
