DIED: DOROTHY WYNDHAM PAGET, 54, English horse owner, granddaughter of President Grover Cleveland's Navy Secretary William C. Whitney, in her sleep, at Chalfont St. Giles, Buckinghamshire, England. Miss Paget's greatest racer was Golden Miller, winner of five consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cups, as well as the Grand National at Aintree in 1934. In 1943 her colt Straight Deal won the Newmarket Derby.
DIED: ROELOF KLEIN, 82, Olympic rowing champion, at Montclair, N.J. In 1900 Paris Olympics, Klein and F. A. Brandt, representing Holland, won the paired-oared shell with coxswain event. Their time of 7:34.5 has never been excelled in Olympic competition.
