Barbara Galleher, Dallas student teacher who was only American to win two gold medals (tumbling and rebound tumbling) in AAU national gymnastic meet, was named outstanding American Gymnast by Midwest Gymnastic club.

Nick Kirby of Rosemead (Calif.) H.S., who is still a sophomore, swam 200-yard freestyle in 1.47.9 in Southern California interscholastic meet, broke listed national scholastic record of 1:52.7 set by Steve Clark of Los Altos (Calif.) H.S.

Trenton Jackson of Benjamin Franklin H.S. in Rochester, N.Y. who plans to enter University of Illinois in fall, ran 100-yard dash in 9.4 in high school meet at Rochester, tied national scholastic record first set by Jesse Owens in 1934.

Mrs. Fred Alford, Dallas, Texas grandmother, hit 199 of 200 targets in 12-gauge competition in Pan-American International Skeet Tournament at Dallas, edged Mrs. Betje Annan of Aspen, Colo. in shoot-off for women's championship.

Clark Graebner of Lakewood (Ohio) H.S. captured state scholastic tennis singles championship for third straight year when he won 1961 title at Columbus, Ohio, became second boy to accomplish feat, equaled mark set by Tony Trabert.

Larry Mack, senior at Morton H.S. in Cicero, Ill. pitched no-hit game as Morton beat Wood River H.S. 20-0 for state title, later revealed that he would forsake baseball to concentrate on football and basketball when he enters Annapolis.
