Roll-a Bowl-a Boom
Like significant dots on a zigzagging corporate sales chart, some 40 bowling balls hit the alleys simultaneously at the beginning of the 59th American Bowling Congress tournament in Des Moines. As a business index he rolling balls may seem to augur an uncertain future, but by the time the 69-day tournament (total prize money: $500,000) is over 27,000 contestants will doubtless have proved that bowling as a sport is booming.
