Dale Lewis, whose tennis teams have not lost since he came to the University of Miami as coach five years ago, saw his players extend the school dual-meet winning streak to 100 by beating Rollins 8-1, Lewis also coached Miami's first soccer team to an unbeaten season.
George Pajer IV, Bowling Green (Ohio) sophomore, became the college all-events bowling champion with a three-game score of 560 in team competition (he said he was nervous), 633 in the singles and 629 in the doubles at the intercollegiate finals in Des Moines.

Don Ellis of Houston opened the American Bowling Congress Masters tournament by winning the qualifier with a record two-day total of 1,849, first time in 12 years of Masters competition a pro put two 900-plus totals together on consecutive days. He finished fourth.
