Right Up in the Mud
When a Briton rides a motorbike over farm land, plowed fields, hills, ditches, cart tracks and small cliffs on a cold, wet, rainy day, he calls it, with characteristic understatement, "scrambling." The Greenwich Seven Star Scramble, held near Fawkham in Kent recently, was in the grand tradition—a splendidly muddy, mucky test for Champion Tim Gibbes (123) who scrambled home right up front.
