FACES IN THE CROWD

Graham Hall, 21, a first classman at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y., led his school to its first service academies sailing championship as he skippered his Interclub dinghy to four wins and four seconds on Long Island Sound.

Carol Sorenson, 21, an Arizona State University junior and a golfer who at 17 won the USGA junior girls' title and at 19 the women's collegiate championship, defeated Connie Robinson 5 and 4 to take the Women's Trans-Mississippi tournament in Phoenix.

Gerald Zoehler, 21, a senior economics major and an Air Force ROTC cadet at Colby College in Waterville, Me., won the 1964 postal rifle matches of the Arnold Air Society with a score of 296 out of a possible 300. He is also a hockey player and a distance runner

PFC Art Redden, 25, of the U.S. Marine Corps, who took up boxing last winter, won the interservice light-heavyweight title with a KO over Defending Champion Jim Rosette of the Navy and a decision over Harley Cooper of the Air Force at Camp Lejeune, N.C.

George Aldredge, 17, a junior at Highland Park High in Dallas, sprinted 220 yards around a turn in 20.9, just .6 short of the world record, at a Corpus Christi meet. Twice this year he unofficially tied the national high school mark of 9.4 in the 100-yard dash.

Richie Goodale, 17, the unbeaten captain of Darien (Conn. High's tennis team, overpowered Bruce Shadbolt 6-0, 6-1 as his school defeated Norwalk (Conn.) High for its 100th straight victory. Darien's extraordinary winning streak began on May 5, 1942
