FACES IN THE CROWD

Allen Trammell, a junior outfielder at the University of Florida, scored three runs and batted in six on a grand slam home run and two doubles, all in one inning (the sixth) in a 25-1 win over the University of Kentucky. His batting average after 11 games was .512.

Tom Johnson of Malvern (Pa.) Prep set national records in the 200- and 400-yard freestyle and in the 100-yard age group freestyle at the Eastern Interscholastic championships, then followed five days later with a 200-yard individual medley record of 2:0l.

Vicki Jones, 16, of Carnelian Bay, Calif., a skier since the age of 2 and a junior competitor for the past eight years, won the girls' slalom at the National Junior meet in Bend, Ore., in 104.2. In 1964 she held the Western States downhill and Alpine titles.

Melvin Mofsie, 19, of Keams Canyon, Ariz., whose all-Hopi team—the Roadrunners—placed fourth in the All-Indian Invitational Basketball Tournament in Window Rock, Ariz., was voted the Most Valuable Player for his 87 points at center during four games.

Rita Timpanaro, 15, and her 11-year-old bay gelding, Nibbles, qualified for next fall's finals of the American Horse Shows Association's medal class at the Nationals, when they gained their third win of the winter season at the Ox Ridge show in Darien, Conn.

Bob Day, a UCLA junior who had broken Dyrol Burleson's national collegiate two-mile mark by 7.2 seconds (8:35.3) two weeks earlier, ran an outstanding mile (4:02.8) and two-mile (8:49) in a dual meet with Stanford at Los Angeles' Memorial Coliseum.
