FACES IN THE CROWD

Susie Resseguie, a North Carolina State sophomore, set two meet records in her first collegiate competition—the Women's Intercollegiate Swimming Meet in Kent, Ohio—with a 56.8 in the 100-yard freestyle and a 2:23.1 in the 200-yard individual medley.

Stan Cadiente, a senior quarterback for Farrington High in Honolulu, passed for two TDs and a two-point conversion to lead the Governors to a 166 victory over Kamehameha and their first Interscholastic League of Honolulu championship in 22 years.

Bill Cleary, an oilman and president of the Oklahoma City Symphony, became the first man ever to earn three diamonds for feats of soaring in a low-performance sailplane when he reached an altitude of 30,950 feet over the Black Forest in Colorado.

Candice Brown, 13, an eighth-grader at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, N.J., won the junior ladies' title at the North Atlantic Figure Skating Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., taking first in both the figures and freestyle events.

Wayne Huston, a senior at Trenton (N.J.) State College, scored four goals and led his team to a 6-2 win over Earlham College and the NAIA soccer championship in Kansas City. His eight tournament goals gave him a career record of 72—32 for the season.

Pat McMahon of Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee led all the way after the first mile of the four-mile NAIA Cross-Country Championship run in Omaha, slogging over the snow-covered course in 20:28.5, just 5.8 seconds off the record for the event.
