FACES IN THE CROWD

Dave Jones, Who as football, softball and track coach of elementary school teams in Abilene, Texas, has won 15 out of 20 titles since 1960, completed his fifth straight undefeated season (61 games) as basketball coach at Abilene's Stephen F. Austin school.

Teri Ardleigh, 14, of Greenwich, Conn. and her brown gelding Charade took awards in four classes—the horsemanship championship, the AHSA hunter seat medal, the open working hunter and the open hunter seat at the Secor Farms horse show in White Plains, N.Y.

Ralph Donnelly, a 28-year-old metallurgical engineer from Oak Ridge, Tenn. who has been sailing less than a year, won the Flying Junior Midwinter Championship at St. Petersburg, Fla. with finishes of 1-3-2-1-1 in his first attempt at sailing on salt water.

Howard Coonley, a University of Pennsylvania senior, became the first Penn player since 1938 to win the national intercollegiate squash racquets title when he defeated Larry O'Loughlin of Pittsburgh 15-8, 18-17, 15-9 in a 32-minute final in Annapolis, Md.

Clarence F. Woelm, 66, a left-hander from Milwaukee who began playing three-cushion billiards in 1920, won the national amateur title at the New York Athletic Club, finishing with a 5-1 record. His only loss was to defending champion Jerry Glenn of New York.

Mike Bay, a senior at Waukegan (Ill.) High, won the 165-pound-class title in the state wrestling tournament at Northwestern University, to finish the season with a 28-0 record and lead his team, coached by his father, Ott Bay, to a fourth state championship.
