Bruce Brubaker, 49, a Lititz, Pa. fishing consultant, has won over 300 state and national casting titles in 18 years of competition. At the U.S. casting championships in Columbus, Ohio, he added three more—the dry-fly, the spin-casting and the all-skish titles.

Bill Robertson, a 32-year-old phys ed teacher from Farmingdale, N.Y., who has been a lifeguard at Jones Beach State Park for nine years, gained Lifeguard of the Year honors when he took the individual trophy at the national tournament in Montauk, N.Y.

Teri Brown, a 15-year-old Santa Susana, Calif. blonde who runs in a pink track suit "so the judges can see me better," won her 12th straight race (six 100-yard dashes and six 220s) in six weeks at a meet at Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif.

Terry Wedgewood, 17, hit a single, double, triple and a three-run homer in leading his Evansville (Ind.) Funkhouser Post team to a 5-4 win over Lafayette for the Indiana American Legion state championship. In five tournament games, Terry batted .619.

Joe Bernolfo, 54, a Salt Lake City golfer who won the Utah Slate Amateur twice and has been runner-up seven times, gained his 16th club title (in 18 tries) at the Salt Lake Country Club to become the first golfer in USGA records ever to win that many club championships.

Charles Rudinsky, a Boston College freshman who has been sailing for five years, skippered The Zephyr to the national 110-Class championship on Long Island Sound. Charles, with his younger brother John as crew, won with 21¾ points on finishes of 4-8-6-3-1.
