Barbara Binning of Oklahoma City set three national records in her age group (9-10) at a Little Rock, Ark. swim meet: the 100-yard breaststroke, the 100-yard butterfly and the 80-yard individual medley. She currently holds six national and 33 state records.

Larry Fugle, 18, an undefeated wrestler for Attica (N.Y.) High School, scored a 10-2 decision in the 147-pound class to lead his team to an upset 25-16 victory over Iroquois High, breaking Iroquois' record national winning streak of 150 consecutive matches.

Tina Malpass, a senior at East Jordan (Mich.) High School competing in her first ski meet, beat her twin sister, Julie, by .5 second to take the giant slalom, then won both runs in the slalom to lead her girls' team to victory over Harbor Springs High.

Tommy Lees, 11, a 5'2" fifth-grader from Bethlehem, Pa., competing against boys up to 14 and in the eighth grade, led the undefeated St. John Capistrano basketball team to a 45-12 victory over Sacred Heart Parochial School. He scored 38 of his team's 45 points.

Betty Bates, 29, the wife of a Green Beret staff sergeant from Vass, N.C., who has held the ladies' state skeet-shooting title for the past three years, broke 99 out of 100 targets to win the ladies' all-gauge event at the midwinter championships in Pinehurst, N.C.

Bob Hehenberger, 37, a dentist from St. Petersburg, Fla. who won the 1966 Tarpon Roundup, scored his final catch in the last hour to gain the title of Master Angler at the Sailfish Club in Palm Beach. He finished with a total of 565 points for 10 sailfish releases.
