Darryl Greenamyer, one of the top engineering test pilots for Lockheed Aircraft in Los Angeles, flew a Grumman F8F-2 Bearcat to his third consecutive unlimited classic title with a 392.621 mph average at the National Championship Air Races in Reno.
Eric Maxfield Evans, 17, the 1967 Junior National Whitewater Slalom Champion from Hanover, N.H., capsized in his kayak three times in the international regatta in Peterborough, Ont. but beat 23 others, edging the second-place man by one-tenth of a second.
