Gary Johnson, who pitches for the All-Indian Cherokee (N.C.) High School, struck out 22 batters in a seven-inning game as his team edged Robbinsville 4-3. Robbinsville's runs came on two dropped third strikes, two stolen bases, two wild pitches and a triple.

Jan Williams, 15, of Erie, Pa., won 60 ribbons with her Morgan gelding in her first year showing horses, including the Saddle Seat Equitation, Junior Exhibitor Reserve and Versatility Reserve titles in the New York Morgan Club's highpoint awards.

Joe Gorski, a junior at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, Wash., I bowled a 785 three-game series—which included a 300 game—in junior league competition to score the highest series mark by a junior in Tacoma and the first perfect game as well. Joe's average is 190.

Otis Haley, a senior at Wasco (Calif.) High School, leaped 7'1¼" at the Kern Relays in Bakersfield to better by three-quarters inch the national interscholastic high-jump mark set a week earlier by Reynaldo Brown of Compton, Calif. Otis set the record on his third try.

Jack Lewis Jr. of Wake Forest University gained a 7 and 6 victory over Bill Hyndman in the 36-hole finals of the North and South Amateur golf championship at the Pinehurst (N.C.) Country Club. Last month Lewis tied as second low amateur in the Masters.

John (Jay) Shelton, a graduate student in physics at the University of California at Berkeley, won the first annual International Frisbee Association Master Qualification Meet in Pasadena's Rose Bowl, defeating a field of 115 expert frisbee throwers.
