Elijah (Tiger) White, a 53-year-old grandfather from Carthage, Me. who did not enter motor racing until three years ago, drove his tiger-striped stock car to two victories in a space of eight days, winning 30-lap events at speedways in Bangor and Oxford, Me.
Bea Massman has been tennis coach at Amherst (N.Y.) Central High for seven years, during which time her teams have won 98 straight conference matches. This year her team won the Section VI title, beating Kenmore West, winner of 84 in a row.
Stewart Lindsay Jr., an attackman for the Connecticut Valley Lacrosse Club in Hartford, scored his 150th goal in club play, surpassing his accomplishments at Phillips Exeter Academy (where he had 100 goals) and at Syracuse (where he scored 126 goals).
John Pack, a ubiquitous baseball player for Cretin High School in St. Paul, played three innings at shortstop, two in left field, pitched for another two and hit four consecutive home runs (raising his batting average to .423) against St. Bernard's High School.
Susie Reichley, a graduate student at Baylor, was the Division I all-events winner during the Women's International Bowling Congress championships, a 60-day tournament in San Antonio, Texas, where she had a 210 average and a high single game of 244.
Arthur Delusky of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute won the discus, javelin and shot-put, ran on two relay teams and was the high scorer(with 16½ points) at the New York State Collegiate championships, which he helped RPI win for the first time since 1950.
