FACES IN THE CROWD

Bob Byman, 17, the youngest competitor at the recent U.S. Open and a senior-to-be at Fairview High in Boulder, Colo., totaled 285 for four rounds over the par-71 Denver Country Club golf course to earn his second consecutive N.C. Morris state medal play title.

Ann Butz of Suffern, N.Y. became the second woman ever to win the Professional National Archery Championship three times as she compiled an alltime high aggregate score of 1,175 (including a record 299 outdoor single) out of a possible 1,200 at Grayling, Mich.

Aggie Bonds of Chattanooga scored six firsts in the Tri-Cities Spring Invitational swimming meet at Kingsport, Tenn. She broke Southeastern AAU records for girls 10 and under with a 37.1 in the 50-meter butterfly and a 39.0 in the 50-meter backstroke.

Roy Johnson, of Warren, Ohio, established a new world record in the style event with a time of 6.8 seconds as he won the overall title at the National Parachuting Championships in Tahlequah, Okla. He is the only man to win the title four times.

Roy Young, a June graduate of Elisabeth Ann Johnson Memorial High, Mount Morris, Mich., won the state Class B 100- and 220-yard dashes the last two years. Competing in four events at each meet, he has run a 9.4 100, a 20.9 220 and has long-jumped 23'4".

Jim Lentine of Sierra High in Whittier, Calif., which competes in the highest division of the state's Interscholastic Federation, South Section, made first team all-league in football, basketball, baseball and track. He also set a league long-jump record of 22'1".
