FACES IN THE CROWD

Jerome Alls, of Winter Haven, Fla., led his Denison Junior High track team to the eighth-grade Polk County championship by winning the 100, 220 and long jump. The 14-year-old's best marks are 10.1 in the 100, 23.3 in the 220 and 18 feet in the long jump.

Rich Andrzejewski earned his 16th letter in four years of competition in football, basketball, baseball and track at Northern State College in Aberdeen, S. Dak. His football team won four conference titles, and the baseball team took three NAIA district crowns.

Karen Hummer, 12, a third-degree brown bell from Cranford, N.J. who took up judo four years ago, became the youngest person to win a National Senior Championship when she defeated four opponents in the 105-pound competition, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Pam Robillard, a senior at Columbus North (Ind.) High, paced her team to a second straight state gymnastics championship. Named outstanding performer, she won the all-round title with firsts in the balance beam, vaulting and uneven parallel bars.

Dave Stegman, sophomore centerfielder and leadoff batter for the University of Arizona, set a WAC record by driving in 11 runs during a 27-6 win over Texas-El Paso. His five hits in seven at bats included a grand-slam home run and a bases-loaded triple.

Tom Crowe, 70, Who has been playing two rounds of golf a day for six years on the Santa Monica (Calif.) Shores par-3 course, is the only person to have aced each of the nine holes, which measure from 65 to 110 yards. The retired liquor salesman has had 13 holes in one.
