Patrick (Leaky)Curry, a sophomore goalie on the junior varsity soccer team at Canton (N.Y.)Central School, recorded 23 shutouts in 28 games as the Golden Bears had atwo-year record of 27-0-1. Patrick never allowed more than one goal in anygame.
Bill Krueger, 40,basketball coach at Clear Lake High in Houston for the past four years, markedhis 500th win after 19 years of high school coaching with a 53-50 victory overLincoln High. In 11 seasons in his school district, his record is 330-45.
Julie Gault, asenior at Sahuaro High School in Tucson, has led her volleyball team toconsecutive division and state championships, with the Cougars undefeated in 36matches. This season's only returning starter, Julie was named all-division andall-state both years.
Drexel Lawson, asenior at North Dakota School for the Deaf, won the 100-meter dash in 10.7 atthe Pan American Games for the Deaf in Maracaibo, Venezuela. In 1975, Lawsonwas unbeaten in sprints and was his state's High School Athlete of theYear.
Bill McChesney,17, a junior at South Eugene (Ore.) High, holds national age-group marks in thesix-mile (28:31.2) and 10,000 meters (29:27.2), won his second state highschool cross-country title and led the Axemen to a fourth straight statetitle.
Barry Crane, atelevision producer-director from Studio City, Calif., won his fifth William E.McKenney Trophy, given yearly by the American Contract Bridge League forhighest total of master points. Only Charles Goren, with eight, has won it moreoften.
