FLORISSANT, MO.
Under Coach Baker. 34, Granite City South won an unprecedented second consecutive Illinois state high school soccer championship, and set 24 other tournament records, including most goals, most shots and most one-sided (6-1) victory.

FARGO, N. DAK.
Cichy, 56, who is retiring as Shanley High football coach after 30 years, has a career record of 231-38-3 and his teams have won 16 state titles. He has had only two non-winning seasons and has had winning streaks of 53 and 32.

JIM CLICK
BEXLEY, OHIO
Since 1974, Click, 44, has coached Bexley High girls' tennis teams to a 108-0 record and singles, doubles and team championships in 1976 and 1977. In 14 years his boys' teams have a 175-25 record and four state singles and one doubles title.

PAULA GROVE
CHESTER, VA.
In five years Grove, 35, has coached the coed Sherwood Hills Swim Club to a 38-2 record and four consecutive South-side League titles. Her swimmers have broken 127 league age-group records and currently hold 40 of the 66 records.

JON HUTCHINSON
TORRINGTON, CONN.
Since taking over the Torrington High cross-country team in 1971, Hutchinson, 56, has led the Class L Red Raiders to a 127-7 record. His teams also have won 107 straight dual meets, the second longest streak in the nation.

GARY KEHLER
WESTFIELD, N.J.
In the 17 years Kehler, 46, has been football coach, Westfield High has a 135-14-7 record and holds the state mark for most consecutive wins (48). Last week the Blue Devils won their 20th straight and their eighth shutout of the season.
