Kris, 13, who won regional championships in slalom, tricks, jump and overall, was named 1977's outstanding female Eastern water skier. In August, she became the first New Englander to win the U.S. girls' overall title.

A junior and three-year starter on Manhasset High's basketball team. Tommy, a 6'2" guard, is averaging 33 points a game and has 1,104 career points, 69 fewer than the school record held by Jimmy Brown, who also played some football.

OAKLAND PARK, FLA.
Despite sitting out 15 minutes of the game, Juan, 18, scored all eight goals for the Northeast High soccer team in its 8-1 defeat of Cardinal Gibbons to set a county record. The Peruvian native has tallied 44 goals in 16 games.
CYNDY SCHLAEPFER
ITHACA, N.Y.
A senior center, Schlaepfer, 21, scored 22 goals and had 17 assists in nine ice-hockey games, including a seven-goal game (with an assist) against Colgate, to lead Cornell to an 8-1 record. She has also had two other eight-point games.

LONG BEACH, CALIF.
Walker, 24, a 6'1", 240-pound three-time Southeastern Conference wrestling champion and a silver medalist at the 1977 Pan-American Games, became the first in 5,000 matches to pin 7'4", 505-pound Victor, the wrestling bear.

GLEN BURNIE, MD.
Zimnawoda, 33 (whose name in Polish means "cold water"), a pile driver with a construction company and an English darts shooter for only 15 months, won the U.S. Dart Association's national championship in New York.
