A 6'3" senior forward-guard for the Roth High Falcons, Anderson, 18, holds the Dayton high school single-game scoring record (53 points against Wilbur Wright), averages 38.1 points and 13 rebounds a game, and has 1,450 career points.

LA PLACE, ILL.
Carlton, 24, set an American record of 363.8 pounds in the snatch in the 220-pound class at the AAU Charleston (Ill.) Junior Olympics-Open weight-lifting championships. Carlton broke the record of 360 pounds held by Mark Cameron.

EMMAUS, PA.
Jody, 13, became the country's youngest National Elite gymnast by finishing 11th in the USGF national qualifying meet in Texas. She was fourth at the Kips Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., scoring her fourth 9.7 in the side horse vault.

WESLEY PAYNE
YUKON, W VA.
A 19-year-old senior at Big Creek High, Wesley has won the state championship three consecutive times and twice has been named outstanding wrestler. Competing in the 155-pound class, he has a 79-1 record, with 61 straight wins.

High scorer for the Greenhaven soccer team, Robbie, 7, had 44 of the Vikings' 96 goals. A forward, he led the team to a 17-0 season mark and the Division I (under-eight age group) Sacramento County youth championship.

RYAN, OKLA.
Jay, 17, a senior at Ryan High, scored a state-record 82 points during a 105-74 defeat of Thackerville High, breaking the record set in 1955 by five points. Jay, a 6'5" forward, averages 33.1 points and 14 rebounds for the Class B school.
