A 16-year-old sophomore at Worland High School, Kathy led the Warriors to their first state Class AA girls track and field championship. The 5'7" 115-pounder set state records in the 80-yard low hurdles (10.6) and the 110-yard lows (14.67).

BROOKLYN
A senior righthander for John Jay High School, Luis, 17, pitched a no-hitter as the Indians won the New York City Public School Athletic League title, beating John Bowne 2-0. Figueroa had an 11-1 record, a 0.90 ERA and batted .325.

Mary, 16, won her second straight senior all-round title at the Doddseur All-Germany Gymnastics Finals. The Würzburg American School sophomore also won the balance beam and uneven parallel bars and tied for first in floor exercises.

BOLTON, ENGLAND
A 22-year-old Nicholls (La.) State freshman, Robinson paced the Colonels to their sixth Gulf Coast Conference tennis title in seven years. A 1978 NCAA Division II All-America, Chris had a 29-2 record in No. 1 singles.

LONGWOOD, FLA.
Dawn, a senior at Lake Howell High, led the girls' Softball team to a 19-6 record, the finals of the Five Star Conference championship and the District 9-AAAA title. The 6'1" first baseman, 18, batted .522 with 11 home runs and 55 RBIs.

ALGONA, IOWA
Gregg, 17, paced Garrigan Catholic High to an unprecedented fourth straight state championship overall. He averaged 37.4 strokes per nine holes and had a 66, the lowest score among the state's high school golfers this season.
