Cox, a 21-year-old senior at New Hampshire who has been drafted by the Boston Bruins, holds school career records for points with 222 and goals with 115. In 3½ varsity I seasons, the All-America right wing has had four five-goal games.

Don, 45, won the seven-dog class and his daughter Ruth Ann, 15, finished first in the three-and five-dog classes at the Ely All-American Sled Dog Championships, the sport's premier event in the lower 48. Don, a fishing-resort owner, and Ruth Ann, a ninth-grader at Ely Junior High, have won in five meets this season, and last year they had gold medals in the International Sled Dog Association Championships, he in the five-dog class, she in the three-dog category.

Shore, 35, a manufacturer and designer of sails, has been named 1978 Yachtswoman of the Year. She won the Adams Cup, emblematic of the women's national sailing title, as well as the women's National Lightning Championship.

Bruin, 18, a 6'4½" swingman and one of the top schoolboy basketball players in New York City, hit his 24-point average to lead defending city champion. Mater Christi High, to a 74-73 win over state champion Mount Vernon.
