Anne, a 6'8" senior center at Paramus Catholic Girls High and the most sought-after schoolgirl basketball player in the country, averaged 37 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Paladins to their second consecutive state championship.

Riggs, 39, has coached the wrestling squad at Peru Central High to 53 straight wins and four finishes among the state's top 10 teams in the last six years. He also has had more wrestlers place in the state meet in that time than any other coach.

Tracee, at 12 the youngest entrant in the American Cup gymnastics meet at Madison Square Garden, won two of four events—the uneven parallel bars (9.6) and the balance beam (9.6)—to place third in the women's competition.

Swenson, a 28-year-old trapper and dog trainer, won the 1,049-mile Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race from Nome to Anchorage in 15 days, nine hours, 37 minutes and 47 seconds to become the first two-time winner in the event's seven-year history.

Ramsay, a 22-year-old junior at Penn State, beat Princeton junior Nancy Gengler 15-14, 15-4, 15-3 in Middletown, Conn. to win the national intercollegiate women's squash racquets championship for the third consecutive year.

BIRMINGHAM, ALA.
Terry, 10, averaged 33.6 points for his team in the Mountain Brook elementary school league. A 4'10" guard who hit seven of nine shots from half court this season, he scored 56 in the Bulls' 62-47 win over the Mets for the championship.
