Percy, 17, a middle guard, blocked a punt with 15 seconds left and returned it for a TD to give American High a 13-6 win over Norland and its very first victory after 32 straight losses. He also made 10 tackles and recovered a fumble.

COLORADO SPRINGS
Gladney, 32, a grammar school teacher, won the women's division of the 1979 Pikes Peak Marathon. She covered the 15 miles to the 14,110-foot summit and the 13 back in 4:42, surpassing the previous women's record by 27 minutes.

Boyette, 51, a Navy lieutenant commander, won the overall title in the veteran men's division of the National Barefoot Water Ski Championships in Tyler, Texas. He finished first in start methods, second in tricks and third in wake slalom.

ELMWOOD PARK, ILL.
Olesiak, 32, a policeman, was MVP of the Amateur Softball Association 16-inch slow-pitch national tournament in Harvey, Ill. In leading the Chicago Bobcats to their 11th ASA title, he batted .514 in 10 games with eight homers and 24 RBIs.

MATT BRUNSMAN
PETALUMA, CALIF.
Matt, 15, who has been powerlifting for only a year, hoisted a total of 715 pounds in the three lifts to win the 123-pound class of the Junior Northern California Championships in San Francisco. It was the first meet in which he competed.

DANNY TISDALE
EVERMAN, TEXAS
Tisdale picked up 312 yards on 30 carries and scored four TDs to lead Everman High to only its second win in 14 years over archrival Burleson. The 5'9", 180-pound senior has rushed for more than 100 yards in all but three of 27 games.
