AUBURN, ALA.
Mark, 10, defeated 14-year-old Sherry Lee of Aiea, Hawaii in the finals of the 12th World Hula Hoop championship in Las Vegas. One of nine regional titlists, all under 15, he won on the basis of degree of difficulty, showmanship and continuity.

BRANDT, S. DAK.
Robin, a senior honor student at Clear Lake High and a 5'8" four-time All-State basketball player, led the Cardinals to a 91-8 record and a berth in the state tournament in each of her seasons. She scored 2,332 points and shot 51% in her career.

BOB WALTHOUR
CARMEL, CALIF.
Walthour, 52, coached the Carmel High girls' swimming and diving team to 70 straight wins and, since 1971, a 90-1 record and nine league titles. His part-time high school coach at St. Monicas in Santa Monica was Johnny Weissmuller.

RACHEL MORESKY
CLEVELAND
Rachel, 10, became one of the youngest girls ever to earn a black belt in the art of Tae Kwon Do. The Cleveland Academy student, who has competed in Tae Kwon Do since she was five, is a two-time national AAU age-group bronze medal winner.

RAYMOND JONES
ELECTRA, TEXAS
Raymond, a quarterback and tailback, passed for 327 yards and three TDs, and ran for 210 yards and three more scores in Electra Junior High's 38-22 win over Seymour Junior. The eighth-grader ended the 10-game season with 2,720 total yards.

GREENVILLE, S.C.
Fitzgerald, a freshman swimmer for the University of Georgia, set or helped set six school women's records: the 50 backstroke (28.9), 100 back (1:01.3), 200 back (2:12.0), 200 free (1:57.2) and the 200 free and 200 medley relays.
