Harju, a 23-year-old carpenter, won the first Wilderness Trek cross-country ski race at Ely, Minn. over a field of 73. He skied the 46-kilometer course in 2:49:42, beating second-place finisher Brent Smith of Cloquet, Minn. by eight minutes.

DON McALLISTER
BROOKLYN
McAllister, a 6'7" center at Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y., hit 28 straight shots over a six-game stretch to set an NCAA record. In his streak he made 13 layups, three hook shots and 12 jumpers from as far as 18 feet from the basket.

DUBBERLY, LA.
Stahl, 42, coached the Sibley High basketball team to its 71st win in a row, a 75-38 triumph over Quitman High, to break the state high school record for consecutive victories (70). The Raiders have since run their streak to 80.

ALEX AGUERA
CLEARWATER, FLA.
Aguera, 18, a windsurfing instructor, finished first in the closed-course and slalom events in the middleweight division to win the men's overall title at the 1980 national midwinter championships off the John Pennekamp state park in Key Largo, Fla.

SUSAN FINNEY
MONTCLAIR, N.J.
Susan, 12, a right wing and one of only three girls in the 11-team Montclair ice hockey club junior program, scored a league-record eight goals and three assists in one game for the Rangers. She leads her age group with three goals per game.

JENNY KLITCH
GRANDVIEW HEIGHTS, OHIO
Jenny, a ninth-grader at Grandview Heights High, beat Amy Brown 6-0, 6-2 to become the youngest player (14) to win the Ohio A-AA high school girls' tennis title. Her father, Richard, won the boys' tennis championship in 1951.
