TRACY CLAXTON
NEW HAVEN, CONN.
Tracy, a 6' senior center at Wilbur L. Cross High, led the Governors to 53 straight wins and three consecutive state girls' basketball titles. In four seasons she had 2,420 points, 2,265 rebounds and scored a state-record 54 points in one game.

MALVERN, PA.
Rusty, 14, a student at The Haverford School and the No. 1 14-and-under squash player in the U.S., defeated Scott Leggat 15-10, 15-8, 15-9 to win the Canadian Junior tournament in Toronto. He gave up no more than 10 points in any game.

KIRKCALDY, SCOTLAND
Ritchie, a 27-year-old freshman at the University of Arizona, threw the discus 210'11" at the Martin Luther King Freedom Games in Palo Alto, Calif. to surpass her own U.S. collegiate and U.K. women's records for the third time in a month.

KEITH COBB
TOPEKA, KANS.
Cobb, 33, a garage owner, won the Kansas Indoor Archery championship in Wichita with scores of 298 and 296 out of a possible 300. He bought his first bow just four months ago from the archery supply store next door to his shop.

JOHN DAVIS
NORFOLK, VA.
Davis, a senior wrestler at Maury High, won the 155-pound title and his 78th consecutive match at the state high school tournament in Roanoke. In four varsity seasons he also won state championships at 132, 138 and 145 pounds.

STAN MAVIS
BOULDER, COLO.
Mavis, 25, a sports-store manager, won a half-marathon (13.1 miles) in New Orleans in 1:02:16 to set an American record. His time beat the 1979 mark of Kirk Pfeffer by 16 seconds. Runner-up Craig Virgin surpassed the old record by one second.
