Andre, a junior majoring in psychology at the University of Montana, won the men's competition in the fourth national intercollegiate Frisbee championships in Atlanta. He placed first in accuracy, seventh in distance and tied for fourth in the golf event with a three-under-par 24. Horowitz, a sophomore economics major at Vassar, was the women's champion, winning the distance competition and placing fourth in the golf (a two-under-par 25) and third in the accuracy competition.

Sheree, a ninth-grader at Oil Trough Junior High, won eight of the 10 individual events at the Independence County track meet, including the shot, discus, long jump, high jump, 110-yard low hurdles and 100-, 220- and 440-yard dashes.

Hodgman, 76, a retired surgeon and Sea Pines Academy girls' tennis coach, has guided the Lady Gators to 18 straight Independent School conference shutouts, 163 consecutive singles and doubles victories and three straight state titles.

Crosby, a 5'11" junior centerfielder at Longwood College in Farmville, Va., had the most stolen bases in NCAA Division III for the second consecutive season—62 in 68 attempts this year, 35 in 35 in '79. He batted .375 this season, had 10 steals in one doubleheader and nine in another. Toombs, a 5'8" freshman designated hitter at Longwood, led Division III with a .565 batting average—52 hits in 92 at bats. He had 10 doubles, four home runs and 33 RBIs. The Lancers finished the season with a 19-11 record.
