MARENGO, IND.
Chris, a ninth-grader at Crawford Junior High, set school records in the 60-, 100-and 200-meter dashes while winning 54 of 56 races. He also led the Wolfpack basketball team in assists, rebounding, scoring and to a 15-1 record.

LISA JONES
VALDOSTA, GA.
Lisa, a junior, won four gold medals while leading Valdosta High to the state AAAA track title. She set state records in the long jump and 110-yard low hurdles and was on the record-breaking 440-yard relay team. She also won the 100-yard dash.

GARY ADAMS
GRASS LAKE, MICH.
Gary made three all-state teams as a senior at Grass Lake High: football (65 catches, 610 yards, 10 TDs), basketball (28.6 average) and baseball (13-2 pitching record, with 183 strikeouts while hitting .515 and stealing 136 bases in 137 tries).

DOUG LEWIS
YUKON, OKLA.
Doug, 16, won his second straight state soccer scoring title (36 goals) in the 16-and-under league and led the Warriors to a 9-0-1 record and a second consecutive regional title. In one game he scored seven goals before halftime.

JIM BOWDITCH
WILTON, CONN.
Bowditch, the 57-year-old coach of the Weston High boys' tennis team, has a seven-year record of 102-2, including seven Western Connecticut Conference titles. Since its loss to Barlow High in 1978, Weston has won 41 straight dual matches.

MIKE NOAKES
FRESNO, CALIF.
Noakes, 40, has coached the Bullard High baseball team to a four-year record of 110-11-2 while guiding the Knights to their fourth straight North Yosemite League title. This season he was named Northern California Coach of the Year.
