Beth, who graduated last spring from Hamilton-Sussex High, won her fourth straight conference 220-yard title in a record 25.7. She also set marks in the 110-yard hurdles and long jump and anchored the winning 880-yard relay team.

DOUGLAS J. WATTS
MOGADORE, OHIO
Watts, a 62-year-old systems analyst, won 15 straight age-group titles in road races ranging from five miles to the marathon. At the Senior Citizens' Olympics in Akron, he placed in four of the eight events, winning the 440 and the mile.

TONY HARRIS
LEXINGTON, KY.
Tony, a junior at Tates Creek High, pitched in six of nine state baseball tournament games, getting four wins (including two two-hitters and one three-hitter) and a save, striking out 32 batters in 28 innings and leading the Commodores to the title.

STEVE LONG
TRENTON, GA.
Steve, a sixth-grader at Middle Dade, won his third straight singles City Junior Horseshoe title by making ringers on 60% of his tosses. The runner-up hit 20%. In national age-group competition, he has a 30-4 record, winning eight of 13 matches.

SOUTH GLENS FALLS, N.Y.
Smith, 34, has coached the South Glens Falls High tennis and soccer teams to outstanding records: soccer, 65-11-6 in nine years, with one sectional and eight league titles; tennis, 93-9 in 12 years, including five sectional titles.

CINDY LONG
WOMELSDORF, PA.
Cindy, a junior at Conrad Weiser High, pitched seven no-hitters, including two on the same day, en route to a 26-4 record, leading the Scouts to the PIAA Class AA Softball title. In 201 innings she struck out 197, allowing only 23 earned runs.
