MOLINE, ILL.
Kerri, 12, hit a league-leading .696, with 37 runs batted in and five homers, in leading her otherwise all-male team to the Moline Little League title. In 12 postseason all-star games, she hit nine home runs, had 18 RBIs and batted .600.

JOHN HINTON
DANVILLE, VA.
John, a senior at Tunstall High, won the 1,500-meter run at the National Junior Olympics in a national 16-18 age-group-record 3:51.4. Earlier, he set Virginia's 1,600-meter record with a 4:07.6 clocking at the Class AA championships.

WEST POINT, N.Y.
Palone, 70, ended his 29-year coaching career at Army with a record of 228-80-35 in soccer. His teams reached the NCAA playoffs 10 times and the semifinals four. He also coached the Army baseball team to three winning seasons (1955-57).

RAY BELLET
BUFFALO
Bellet, 41, who earlier this year bowled his first 300 game, pitched the first perfect game of his 25-year Buffalo Municipal Baseball Association career, a 16-0 win over Southside A.C. He also manages his team, the Mustangs.

John, 13, won 38 of 39 individual swimming events over two seasons, and two straight state titles in the 50-meter butterfly, 100-meter freestyle and 200-meter I.M. This year he set state marks in the 50-yard fly, 100-yard free and 50-meter fly.

McCullough, a 33-year-old hairdresser, became the first woman to win the Wimbledon Cup, which is long-range rifle shooting's most prestigious trophy, when she survived a six-way shoot-off in the 1,000-yard event at Camp Perry, Ohio.
