CALEXICO, CALIF.
Marcos, a senior center forward on the Calexico High soccer team, scored 12 goals in a 20-1 victory over Calpatria to set a national high school record. He has averaged four goals a game in leading the Bulldogs to an 11-3-1 season.

DALLAS
Alexander, 42, bowled three straight 268 games at Hart Bowl in Dallas, to become one of only 27 women ever to roll an 800 series. She teamed with Susie Reichley for a world-record 1,479 doubles total, five pins more than the old mark.

ALEXANDRIA, VA.
Walton, a sophomore shotputter at Maryland, established a women's collegiate indoor record with a throw of 53'9½" at a meet in Blacksburg, Va. She surpassed the mark of 52'6½" set by Rose Hauch of Tennessee last winter. At the same meet, Funn, a junior at George Mason University, ran the 60-meter dash in 7.28 to better the women's collegiate indoor record of 7.31 and equal the national mark, both set by Brenda Morehead of Tennessee State in 1979 and '80 respectively.

Ferguson, 29, the gymnastics coach at Salem High, guided his girls' team to its fifth consecutive state championship. His boys recently won their fifth straight North Shore League title; his teams are undefeated in their last 116 meets.

LAWRENCE, KANS.
Claire, 15, a 5'9" guard on the Central Junior High School girls' basketball team, scored 42 points in a 56-28 victory over West Junior High. She has averaged 35 points a game in leading the Mustangs to a 9-2 record.
