Buglione, 19, won three of the six slalom races and placed ninth overall in the four giant slaloms to win the combined-event title of the 10-race North American Ski Trophy Series at five sites in Vermont, New Hampshire and Quebec.

AMES, IOWA
Joe, a 132-pound senior at Ames High, ended his varsity wrestling career with a 104-5 record and his fourth state 3A title, making him the first Iowan to win that many. His brother Jim won the NCAA 134-pound title for Iowa State.

TYKE PEACOCK
URBANA, ILL.
Peacock, a 6'1" sophomore at Modesto (Calif.) Junior College, surpassed his own national J.C. record of 7'3¾" in the high jump by clearing 7'4" in his first meet this season. With 1,146 points, he is also Modesto's leading career basketball scorer.

Peggy, 11, a speed skater, won all four girls' midget events at the National Outdoor Championships in West Allis, Wis. She set national midget records in the 200 meters (21.52), the 300 (30.64), the 400 (38.68) and the 500 (50.43).

PARADISE VALLEY, ARIZ.
Minturn, 55, a surgeon, won his age group (55-to-59) in two marathons in a five-week span. After clocking a 3:14:20 in the Tucson Marathon on Jan. 25, he ran the Phoenix in 3:16:00 on March 1, his 23rd marathon in less than four years.

Maltby, 32, a touring pro with Clark's Uptown Racquet Club, beat Alicia McConnell of Brooklyn 15-11, 15-5, 8-15, 15-13 at the U.S. Women's National Squash Championships in Los Angeles to win her second consecutive title.
