DIANE CARLIN
DEDHAM, MASS.
Diane, a senior at Dedham High, scored 8.9 and 9.0 in the floor exercise and 9.05 and 9.1 on the bars to win the girls' all-around title at the state high school gymnastics meet in Brockton. It was her third such championship in as many years.

GARY SILVA
MONTROSE, MICH.
Gary, 17, a 112-pound wrestler at Montrose Hill-McCloy High, finished his four-year varsity career with a 187-18-1 record to surpass the national scholastic record for total victories (177) set by his brother Jerry in 1978.

HONITON, ENGLAND
Brown, 22, a 5'2", 92-pound biochemistry student, coxed Oxford's eight-man boat to a 23-second victory over Cambridge in the schools' annual 4¼-mile race on the Thames. She was the first woman to participate in the 152-year-old event.

JOE CARLSON
ASPEN, COLO.
Joe, an 11-year-old skier, won the slalom and giant slalom and was second in the downhill to win the boys' 10-and-11-year-old overall title at the Rocky Mountain region's Junior Olympics competition in Winter Park, Colo.

LISA INGRAM
CORAL SPRINGS, FLA.
Lisa, a 6'3" junior center at Coral Springs High, set an unofficial Florida 4A record by scoring 59 points in a 77-55 victory over Dillard High of Fort Lauderdale. She averaged 39.6 points and 22.1 rebounds per game this season.

SANTA ROSA, CALIF.
Bowers, 42, a TWA pilot, set a U.S. 40-44 age-group record of 1:39:29 in the Masters 30 km. national championship road race in Schenectady. He also holds the age-group marks in the 25-km. (1:22:39) and the marathon (2:22:23).
