Obermeyer, a 40-year-old mother of six, established a women's race record of 351 miles in the Wolverine 200 Bicycle Marathon on Belle Isle in Detroit. During her 24 hours of pedaling, she completed 65 laps of the 5.4-mile course.

MIKE JOHNSON
YODER, WYO.
Mike, a new alumnus of S.E. Goshen High, led the Cyclones to state titles in three sports in 1980-81. He averaged 9.7 yards a carry as a wishbone quarterback and 18.1 points a game in basketball and won four events at the state track meet.

LAS VEGAS
Max, in his senior season as a third baseman at Nevada-Las Vegas, hit for the cycle on consecutive days to lead the Rebels to 23-11 and 18-17 wins over Northern Colorado and L.A. State, respectively. He finished the year with a .443 average.

J.J. GRANT
BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y.
J.J., a 5'11", 206-pounder who recently finished the eighth grade at Ray Junior High, set a national mark for 13-year-olds in the 12-pound shot with a throw of 49'7", 2'8½" farther than the previous record, which had stood since 1972.

McAuley, 58, the swimming coach at Georgia Tech, won three age 55-59 titles at the national masters' short-course meet in Irvine, Calif. He triumphed in the 50-yard freestyle (25.77), 100 free (58.08) and the 50 butterfly (29.50).

KIM WAGNER
WAUZEKA, WIS.
Kim, a recent graduate of Wauzeka High, finished her four-year varsity softball career with a .603 batting average and 119 stolen bases in 120 attempts. The leftfielder reached base in 80% of her appearances at the plate.
