Mark, a ninth-grader at Alexander Junior High, won the boys' Junior World Horseshoe Pitching Championship for the third consecutive year. He averaged 83% ringers in 11 matches in the finals, which were held in Genola, Minn.

Lou, a senior quarterback at Ladue High and son of the former Cardinal outfielder, ran 17, 21 and five yards for touchdowns, threw 72 yards for another, kicked five PATs and gained 57 yards on six carries during a 41-0 rout of Northwest High.

Tiffany, 8, a starting fullback and defensive end for the Rutherford Green Packers pee wee football team, has scored six TDs in five games. She also had 118 strikeouts in 41 innings for Rutherford in the Mesquite 7-to-8-year-old baseball league.

Wendy, 15, competing in the 25-kilogram class of the intermediate girls' division at the U.S. National Archery Association Flight Championships, established an amateur women's world hand-held bow mark by shooting an arrow 807 yards, two feet, five inches. Saranell, her 44-year-old mother, earlier had set a national unlimited class hand-held bow record for amateur women of 805 yards, two inches at the same competition. They each hold two other American or world records.

Walton, 18, was 6-0 with an 0.33 ERA in post-season play and was named most outstanding player in the Babe Ruth World Series for 16-to-18-year-olds as he led his Rutherford team, 31-0 on the year, to the title in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
