BEN FORNEY
ROTHSVILLE, PA.
Forney, 77, a semi-retired livestock dealer, rode, as the No. 1 player, in 28 of 33 games this season for the Lancaster Polo Club of Rothsville. Believed to be the oldest active polo player in the country, he has been competing for 44 years.

TAMI MAIDA
PHILOMATH, ORE.
Tami, a 5'4", 117-pound freshman, ran for a TD and threw for a two-point conversion while quarter-backing the Philomath High freshmen to a 46-6 football win over Taft and the J.V. to a 26-0 defeat of Elmira. All the other players were male.

DAN CONWAY
CHETEK, WIS.
Conway, 42, a phys ed teacher, won the National Masters 10 km. road race with a clocking of 31:01.4—the second fastest ever by an American masters runner. A week later, he won the National Masters 15 km. race in 48:29.0.

PAULA STASHIS
TOPSFIELD, MASS.
Paula, a senior forward, had 106 goals and 46 assists in leading the Masconomet Regional High girls' soccer team to a record of 58-10-4 over four years. She is believed to have set a girls' national record by hitting the 100-goal career mark.

BILL STROMBERG
CATONSVILLE, MD.
Stromberg, a senior wide receiver at Johns Hopkins, caught 11 passes in a 20-14 victory over Western Maryland to set an NCAA Division II and III record for career receptions with 259. In his four years, he had 3,790 yards in receptions.

DAWN HILL
NEW CASTLE, DEL.
Dawn, a senior at William Penn High, paced her school's field hockey team to an 11-1-1 record by scoring 40 of its 63 goals. She batted .469 last spring as an all-state soft-ball catcher and was the school's 1980-81 MVP in girls' basketball.
